Understanding Class Levels
Our class levels are based on grade, not experience. This helps group children by age and developmental stage rather than prior exposure.
Level 1: Grades 1–2
Level 2: Grades 3–5
Level 3: Grades 6–8
Level 4: Grades 9–12
Some classes are unleveled, meaning they don’t follow the standard level groupings. These may include students from a single grade or a wider range of grades, depending on the class goals and structure.

Musical Theatre
Grades 1-2 & Grades 3-5
Young performers acquire the skills that will become the foundation for performing in plays and musicals including learning Broadway songs, performing musical and non-musical scenes, and through other solo and ensemble material. Develop a solid acting foundation through character development, improv skills, vocal technique, and staging in this Broadway-bound performance class.

A class to become the ultimate triple threat! Students will receive the best training in musical theatre and acting techniques through advanced character building and scene & song examination. A portion of the class will also be dedicated to learning proper audition etiquette and skills you didn’t know directors looked for. This is a perfect class for aspiring actors who are ready to take their acting and musical abilities to the next level. We highly recommend students take Tap Dancing in tandem with this class.

Acting & Improv
Grades 3-5
Students explore acting techniques and build a solid foundation through short scenes, monologues, and acting exercises. To complement this, improvisation games are used to help develop actors’ comfortability on stage, quick thinking skills, and ability to work as a team. Students discover the power of a creative imagination and develop the confidence and enthusiasm being a skilled actor requires. This class teams up with our Directing class to give students the opportunity to work with multiple directing styles!
Acting & Improv 2 (Grades 3-5)

Acting for Film & TV 3
Grades 6-8
The Film & TV classes teach specific techniques of on-camera performance including acting in commercials, soaps, television series and films by working on-camera each week. Students learn all the steps to a successful film or television audition, including how to improvise, prepare text, memorize quickly and interview well. In addition, students learn the different techniques for commercials, film and television and the difference between live and filmed auditions.

Improvisation
Grades 6-8
A class where kids can freely let their creativity and imagination soar! Learn the fundamentals of improvisation techniques through games, exercises, and activities that focus on getting students comfortable on stage, sharpening their wit, and working as a team. Whether you want to become master improviser, a stronger actor, or just hope to make your friends laugh, then this is the class for you!
Improv 3 (Grades 6-8)

Directing
Grades 8-12
Step into the director’s chair in MTC’s only class focused entirely on the art of directing. Designed for advanced students, this class explores directing techniques, styles, storytelling, staging, and effective actor communication. Students will learn how to shape performances, build creative vision, and bring scenes to life through hands-on exercises and collaboration.
This class also partners with the Acting & Improv class, giving directors the unique opportunity to work with live actors, apply their skills in real time, and grow their confidence as creative leaders.

Tap Dancing
Grades 6-12
Make some noise and tap your way to center stage! Whether you’ve tapped before or have never tapped at all this is a great class for both beginner and intermediate tappers. From the classic styles of the past to the innovative techniques of the present, this will be an unforgettable class where your feet become instruments of expression, and the stage becomes your playground. Students must have their own tap shoes.

For the serious young musical theatre singer, MTC offers private study in voice. Students develop a solid vocal technique specifically focused on the requirements for healthy singing in the musical theatre including vocal production, breathing, healthy belting for women, appropriate musical theatre repertoire and audition techniques.
Lessons are once a week at the same day and time every week. Please see our Policy page for information on missed or cancelled lessons.

Private Audition Prep
Have an upcoming audition you want to feel fully prepared for? Our professional teaching staff is here to help you walk in with confidence. Our audition prep package includes three private lessons tailored specifically to your audition material and goals. Students should send their audition requirements and material in advance. Need help choosing a song or monologue? We can help with that too. MTC has an extensive library of audition material, and part of the first lesson can be dedicated to finding the perfect fit for you.
For auditions that include both acting and singing, lessons will be split into two focused half-hour sessions back-to-back. Students preparing for only acting or only singing will receive dedicated half-hour lessons in their chosen area.

Student Production Prerequisites:
Students must be in second grade or above
