About the Show
Celebrate the season with Broadway stars and real-life couple Nicolas Dromard & Desiree Davar in Nic & Desi: A Broadway Holiday, a joyful evening of music, dance, laughter, and holiday cheer. With Broadway credits including Wicked, Jersey Boys, Mary Poppins, and West Side Story, Nic & Desi bring their signature vocals, show-stopping dance, quick-witted humor, and undeniable chemistry to the holidays.
Filled with beloved Christmas classics, Broadway favorites, dazzling tap, and a touch of old-school holiday glamour, Nic & Desi: A Broadway Holiday celebrates the season with a fresh, playful style all their own. Their own love story began onstage in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, making the holidays an especially fitting time for this Broadway couple to share the stage.
Warm, funny, glamorous, and full of surprises, it’s the perfect night to get into the spirit, and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, Broadway style. Under the musical direction of the incomparable Michael Lavine
“Through their mix of song, dance, storytelling and comedy, Nicolas Dromard and Desirée Davar are two powerhouse performers who feel straight from another era but one that allows for the perfect escapism.”
- Daz Gale, All That Dazzle, London West End
“With wonderful singing and dancing, Nic and Desi bring the most appealing
charm and excitement to the stage. I can't wait to see them again!"
-Donna McKechnie, Tony Award Winner and Broadway Icon
Nicolas Dromard is an award-winning singer, dancer, actor, choreographer, and director whose career has taken him from Broadway to stages across North America and around the world. He is best known for starring as Fiyero in Wicked, Bert in Mary Poppins, and Tommy DeVito in Jersey Boys, a role he performed more than 3,000 times. Other favorite credits include Tulsa in Gypsy, Billy Flynn in Chicago, and Billy Lawlor in 42nd Street.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Nicolas started dancing at age six after seeing Fred Astaire on the silver screen. Tap quickly led to jazz and ballet, and eventually to singing and acting, and he never looked back. Since then, his career has spanned Broadway, national tours, regional theatre, film, television, voice-over, and cabaret. A proud French Canadian and lifelong entertainer, Nic is just as at home singing a ballad as he is landing a punchline, or breaking into a tap dance.
Desiree Davar is an accomplished Broadway performer whose career as an actor, dancer, and singer has taken her from New York to stages around the world.
She made her Broadway debut as Anita in the revival of West Side Story, after first performing the iconic role on the show’s international tour throughout Europe and Asia.
Her favorite credits include Mary Delgado in Jersey Boys at The Fulton Theatre, Velma Kelly in Chicago at Village Theatre, Erma in Anything Goes at Goodspeed Musicals, and Sally Bowles in Cabaret. She has also appeared in Kiss Me, Kate and Can-Can at Paper Mill Playhouse and toured nationally as Tiger Lily in Peter Pan.
Originally from Orange County, California, Desiree began dancing at age four with her mother and later trained at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, where she also served on faculty.
Beyond the stage, Desiree is also a choreographer and educator, with choreography credits including The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, and Jersey Boys at the Fireside Theatre. Her screen credits include Glee and the feature film adaptation of Annie. Whether performing, choreographing, or teaching the next generation, her love of classic musical theatre, and keeping song and dance alive, remains at the heart of everything she does.
-
is one of New York's most versatile and beloved figures in the Broadway and cabaret world, celebrated as a musical director, pianist, vocal coach, performer, and passionate archivist of the American musical theatre canon.
A fixture at 54 Below, Michael has accompanied Broadway and television stars in New Orleans, San Francisco, Australia, Hollywood, and New York's top cabaret rooms. He regularly hosts and music directs special tribute evenings at 54 Below — including celebrated celebrations of Henry Mancini, Sammy Davis Jr., and more — bringing together all-star casts of Broadway's finest.
Among his many credits, Michael musically directed a star-studded concert of the works of Stephen Schwartz, featuring Stephen himself alongside Ben Vereen, Paul Shaffer, Alice Ripley, Daisy Eagan, Constantine Maroulis, Bryan Batt, and others. He produced and musically directed Rediscovered Hamlisch, a recording of previously unrecorded songs by Marvin Hamlisch featuring Kelli O'Hara and other Broadway stars. He also musically directed the Broadway Cares Teddy Bear Auction for its entire 15-year run and regularly plays for the Outer Critics Circle Awards in New York.
Michael conducted The Little Mermaid at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma starring Emily Skinner, and served as music director for Comden & Green's Billion Dollar Baby and Burton Lane's Carmelina — both at Off-Broadway's York Theatre Company, with Billion Dollar Baby starring Kristin Chenoweth, Marc Kudisch, and Debbie Gravitte. At the Shanghai Theatre Academy, he musically directed productions of Rent, Sweeney Todd, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. He has also shared the stage with Mimi Hines and his mentor Peter Howard in This Funny World, a Rodgers and Hart revue, at the Kennedy Center.
As producer of the acclaimed Lost Broadway and More CD series, Michael has collaborated with Broadway stars to record songs from musicals that had never previously been captured on disc — drawing directly from his own extraordinary collection of source materials. Individual volumes have explored themes ranging from female Broadway songwriters to the complete Comden, Green & Styne songbook to an all-Jerome Kern edition, with contributors including Kelli O'Hara, Kitty Carlisle Hart, Sheldon Harnick, Jenn Colella, Christine Pedi, and many more.
A graduate of Columbia University and one of the world's foremost private sheet music collectors, Michael is also a sought-after performance coach, offering private lessons in song interpretation and audition technique to singers at all levels. He has given master classes on song performance and auditioning in New York, Los Angeles, Moscow, Switzerland, Bangkok, Australia, Singapore, Manila, and beyond — making him as much a dedicated teacher and guardian of the repertoire as a performer of it.
