presents "The Wizard of Oz" in Westport
Music Theatre of Connecticut School of the Performing Arts' presents “The Wizard of Oz,” a fully staged and costumed production performed by MTC School of Performing Arts students, ages seven and up. Performances take place Friday, July 16 at 7:30pm and Saturday, July 17 at 1pm at Coleytown Middle School, 255 North Avenue in Westport, CT. Tickets are $12-$20, and reservations are suggested. One of the classic family films of all time comes to life on stage! Follow Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they travel down the yellow brick road to the magical land of Oz. Includes "Over the Rainbow," “Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead,” “If I Only Had A Brain,” “We're Off To See The Wizard” and other songs from the beloved film. “The Wizard of Oz” is based on the book by L. Frank Baum, with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg.
The musical is a fully staged and costumed production performed by MTC students, ages seven and up. “The Wizard of Oz” is directed by Jim Schilling of Norwalk. The cast includes Lauren Beranek, Sydelle Bernstein, Daisy Brackett, Jane Ewert, Aliza Gross, David Hoffman, Julia Rakin, Morgan Skinner, Gabriela Vega and Georgia Wright of Westport. Irish Harvey, David Littlefield, Chloe Mandel, Eve Mandel, Nicky Newman, Sammy Newman, Alexa Nichols, Samantha Nichols and Nikki Scamuffo of Wilton.
